Know Where You Stand Before You Spend
StartCloud's AI Readiness Assessment is a fixed-price engagement for Australian small and medium businesses preparing to adopt AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude.
Delivered by our Perth-based team, the assessment reviews data quality, permissions and security posture, Microsoft 365 configuration, and workflow opportunities, and produces a prioritised AI adoption roadmap.
What We Assess
Most AI projects fail for a boring reason: the data underneath them is messy, over-shared, or not secured. Rolling out Copilot on top of a poorly permissioned SharePoint is how confidential salary files end up in a chat window. We check the foundations first.
Data Readiness
Where your business data lives, how clean it is, and whether AI tools can safely use it.
Security and Permissions
Who can see what, and what Copilot or an AI agent would surface if switched on today.
Microsoft 365 Configuration
Licensing, tenant settings, and the gaps between where you are and where AI needs you to be.
Workflow Opportunities
The two or three processes in your business where AI would save real hours, ranked by payback.
What You Get
A Report in Plain English
No jargon, no filler. What we found, what it means for your business, and what to do about it.
A Risk Register
Every data and permission risk we uncover, rated by severity, so nothing gets switched on blind.
A Prioritised Roadmap
Your next steps with costs attached. No obligation to do them with us, although most clients do.
Pricing
Fixed price, agreed before we start
The price depends on business size and system complexity. It is fixed and agreed before we start, so there are no surprises at the end. Contact us for a quote.
What Usually Comes Next
Businesses with data gaps move into a Data Remediation Sprint to fix permissions, structure, and hygiene before any AI rollout. Businesses that pass move straight to a Secure Copilot Deployment, and from there to custom AI agents, with AI governance across all of it.
Common Questions
How much does an AI readiness assessment cost in Australia?
StartCloud's AI Readiness Assessment is a fixed price, agreed up front before work starts, scoped to your business size and system complexity. Contact us for a quote.
How long does it take?
Usually 2 to 3 weeks from kick-off to the final report, depending on access and business size.
Do we need Microsoft 365 to do this?
No, but most of our clients run Microsoft 365 and the assessment goes deepest there. We also assess line-of-business systems, file servers, and other data sources.
Is my business too small for AI?
If you have 5 or more staff and repeatable admin work, almost certainly not. The assessment exists to tell you honestly whether AI is worth it for you yet, and we will say so if it is not.
Is there a free version?
Yes. Our free online AI readiness check gives you a quick maturity score in a few minutes. The paid assessment goes much deeper: we get into your actual tenant, data, and workflows. Take the free check here.
